Fiuh Badai assignment akhirnya sedikit berkurang. Selamat jalan sobat, u've been with me in the beginning of digital era, Big Tx. Hope u in good hands.

Trimakasih juga buat Aa'Hadi yang mengingatkan tentang Al Adl, Sang Maha Adil. Perhitungannya pasti adil. Selalu istigfar agar diberi kemampuan membaca kehadirannya di setiap detil kehidupan. Agar terjaga.

Yudhoyono hopes Russia to increase investment in Indonesia

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expressed the hope here on Thursday that Russian businessmen could increase their investment in Indonesia to cement the relations between the two countries following improvements in the latter`s investment climate.

"Business opportunities in Indonesia are increasingly open while the country`s economy is continuing to grow. Indonesia also abounds in natural resources and market potential," he said when opening an Indonesia-Russia Business Cooperation Forum meeting.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also addressed the meeting which was organized by the two countries` chambers of comsmerce and industry. The meeting also heard speeches from the general chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammad S Hidayat, and the deputy chairman of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Goergy G Petrov.

President Yudhoyono said fundamentally Indonesia`s economy was stronger, especially following the issuance of the Investment Law to create conducive atmosphere for investment.

"Economic relations between Indonesia and Russia have continued to develop as shown by the two countries` trade that has recorded positive growth. It is hoped the value of the trade can soon reach US$1 billion after standing at US$700 million in 2006," he said.

President Yudhoyono said although Russia`s investment in Indonensia was now still small compared to that of other countries there was now a commitment to increase it, especially following the signing of cooperation agreements in the oil, gas and mining sectors.

The two countries` leaders during the meeting also witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements among others between state-owned oil company Pertamina and Luk Oil, state-owned mining company PT Aneka Tambang and Russal and PT Bank Mandiri and Alfa Bank.

President Putin in his address said the trade between the two countries continued to increase in the past five years.

He admitted that the trade value was still small but the volume this year had soared 65 percent from last year.

"Although the intensity of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy and trade is still far below that in the field of politics we have already discussed a number of cooperation opportunities for an immediate concrete action," he said.

In line with that he hoped Indonesia would also increase its investment in Russia which was one of the ten largest economies in the world.

"In the past seven years Russia`s GNP increased by 7,9 percent and its foreign exchange reserve reach US$400 billion or the third largest in the world," he said.

In his address Mohammad S Hidayat meawhile said the business forum of the two countries` chambers of commerce was a bridge to strengthen the two countries` partnership.

"It is the business community that will actualy be the moving engine for the two counries` partnership. Indonesia has already prepared business divisions such as oil and gas, mining and energy, banking, insurance and tourism to accomodate investment opportunities from Russia," he said.

Georgy G Petrov meanwhile raised the importance of investment protection saying it was one of the basic reasons for Russian companies to come to the country.

"The value of cooperation contracts that have now been signed reached US$4 billion and it is not impossible it will reach US$7 to US$8 billion next year if the investment program is successful," he said.

It's time to invest in human

Tuesday, 28 August 2007
Jakarta (Warta Kota : (28/08/07) Non profit organization Sampoerna Foundation (SF) which is focusing on education, vows to continue improving education quality in Indonesia. Its new Chief Executive Officer, Lin Che Wei, said that the foundation will focus on improving teachers’ quality in Jakarta within five years. “People used to invest in money. Now we are investing in human,” said Lin Che Wei at the Sampoerna Strategic Square building on Monday (27/8).

Lin Che Wei, formerly Director of state-owned investment firm Danareksa said, teachers are the key to build the intellectual life of the nation. “No matter if we have to study under the tree, as long as the teachers are of good quality, students will get good quality education,” he asserted. He quoted former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, saying if a nation wants to make a change it should start investing in human.

However, investing in human through improvement of education quality and access to education in Indonesia needs a long process. Throughout the process, all parties – the government, private sector, and media - have to be involved. Education is not only a matter of how big the budget is, but it's more about how to invest the budget effectively by improving the quality of teachers and helping children who are in need constantly. ”Our focus in these coming years is improving teachers’ quality,” he said.

In its sixth anniversary, the Sampoerna Foundation has adopted 17 state senior high schools and 5 madrasah from 11 provinces in Indonesia to become top schools. In an effort to improve teachers’ quality, SF has established SF Teacher Institute, and has carried out trainings for 3,000 teachers. It also has and scholarships for 60 future teachers.

In 10 years from now, SF will invest US$150 million or Rp 1.5 trillion provided by SF founder, Putera Sampoerna, for education. This donation is expected to encourage other donors to participate in developing education in Indonesia. Some companies such as Exxonmobil, Astro, HM Sampoerna, Siemens, and Total Oil has participated to assist SF programs.

SF has been planning to provide training for 36,700 teachers in basic education institutions in Jakarta. “Training teachers in Jakarta is not an easy task to do," said SF Chief Operating Officer, Elan Merdy. He said that the training would be carried out in stages in five years. Afterwards, teachers training will be carried out in other regions in the country.

SF Annual Gathering 2007 essay by Deri

July 22, 2007
SFAG 2007 Part 2 -- Pelajaran dari anak-anak SDN Pasir Bagade

Kuat mana anak2 SDN Pasir Bagade yang mungkin berusia 8 - 10 tahun dengan mahasiswa2 SF yang sudah kuliah S1 / S2? Saya tidak berani menjawab.

Kenapa?

Wah gila! Anak-anak itu kuat sekali.

Terus kalau kuat kenapa?

Artinya banyak energi.

Pesan 2: Kita belum bekerja cukup keras

We have not worked hard enough. Kita yang beruntung mendapatkan kesempatan belum bekerja sampai kemampuan maksimal kita.

Buktinya apa? Mengapa kita cuma mengangkat 3 - 5 batu bata sekali jalan? Mengapa tidak 7 seperti anak-anak itu? Kalau kita bisa angkat 2 karung tanah masing2 seberat 20 kg -an, mengapa kita angkat 1?

Soft Launching SSS

Office property beings to sparkle

Business and Investment - July 24, 2007

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

The office property sector in Jakarta is set for high growth as a number of new towers come on stream by the end of 2009, a property consultant says.

"Twenty-seven new office buildings, providing some one million square meters of space, are under construction this year, and are expected to be completed by 2009," Anton Sitorus, head of research for property consulting firm Jones Lang LaSalle, said Monday.

"I believe the office property industry has a bright future as interest rates are decreasing," Anton added, pointing also to likely increases in investment as Indonesia came to once again be seen as one of the growth centers in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to figures provided by the company, Jakarta had around five million square meters of office space as of June, with the occupancy rate standing at 85 percent.

"The office space supply in the central business district (CBD) stood at 3.3 million square meters while the remaining 1.7 million square meters is in other areas," said Jones's associate director for commercial affairs, Angela Wibawa.

Angela and Anton were speaking during a media briefing on the Sampoerna Strategic Square towers, located on Jl Sudirman, Central Jakarta, which Angela said were already 60 percent occupied.

The towers are owned by PT Buana Sakti, which bought them from Bank Danamon in 2005. The company has been renovating them since February last year by changing the interior design, expanding the underground parking area, building an atrium connecting the towers and developing an office park.

Jembatan Suramadu

Jembatan Suramadu adalah cita-cita & impian. Sebuah perjalanan penuh cerita.
